“Fitness Minutes” Shoulder Exercise Video

Hello again friends!

To keep you moving, this week's "Fitness Minutes" video (at bottom) will address the shoulder. This will allow you to stretch and strengthen your shoulders in all planes of motion in order to easily reach into high and low ranges to better prepare you for Spring cleanup.

I am also sending along some book recommendations and a video by spiritual teacher, Eckhart Tolle. You may have seen his books here in the clinic at GPT. In my opinion, his teachings are really helpful and especially relevant to what is happening in the world right now with the pandemic.

Book Recommendations:

1) The Power of Now

2) A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose

Eckhart Tolle Video: Staying Conscious in the Face of Adversity

I am not a religious person, however, I do consider myself deeply spiritual. Eckhart's video is 23 minutes long. He speaks slowly and states his point in a few different ways. I encourage you to be patient and keep an open mind on the powerful message he has to offer. At the end, Eckhart paraphrases a quote by an ancient Sufi  "When the ego weeps for what it has lost, the spirit rejoices for what it has found." I love this. :)

Have a great week and keep the faith!

In peace and health,
Lisa Baumgart, MPT, CAFS, FAFS, IFNCP

"Move to the dance of life - As our dance partner, life insists that we put ourselves in motion that we learn to live with instability, chaos, change, and surprise. We can continue to stand immobilized on the shoreline, trying to protect ourselves from life's insistent storms, or we can begin moving. We can watch our plans be washed away, or we can discover something new." - Margaret Wheatley
